Archives for worthing

Another grand day out!

Continuing our great tradition at Ember Bowls Club of visiting friendlies to far-flung places (in this case Worthing!), we had a fantastic day out at the seaside playing against Marine Gardens Bowls Club. Our hosts were amazing, and we had a great walk along the beach, a slap-up lunch and then a close fought game of bowls before heading off home via the lovely Watermill pub in Dorking for a meal and a few drinks to round off a great day. Thanks to all who helped organise our day out, especially Linda!

Bowls day trip to Worthing

Some pictures from Ember’s day out at the seaside to play against Marine Gardens Bowls Club.
A great day was had by all, with fish and chips, a stroll down the beach and 6 rinks of play in the afternoon, followed by a slap-up dinner at the Watermill Inn, Dorking, which served up the biggest cheeseboard I’ve ever seen forĀ dessert!
Thank you to our very kind hosts for a lovely day, and for someĀ great games. Ember narrowly lost by 4 points, but it was close! Also thanks to our coach driver Ron, who entertained us on the way there and back.
