CROQUET - COMPETITIVE & SOCIAL PLAY

During the playing season from Easter Monday to the end of September the Club runs various internal competitions:-

• Open Singles
• Handicap Singles
• Handicap Doubles
• Handicap Singles League on the Full Lawn
• Handicap Singles League on the Short Lawn

The club also plays in South East Croquet Federation competitions:-

• SECF Team Doubles Tournament at Southwick (near Brighton)
• SECF ‘B’ League Competition matches against other south-east clubs, home or away.

Croquet is a very popular social pastime, played by young and old alike, and the Club is keen to encourage players of all abilities, even those who may not wish to participate in competitions and tournaments.

Both Lawns are available for members to arrange and pre-book their own matches at any time during the season, except when the lawns are required for mowing, maintenance and scheduled events like coaching. Members are also welcome to play without pre-arrangement on Club Nights or at other times when the lawns are available.
