CROQUET CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT

For normal club play you may wear any clothing you wish, the only requirement being that you wear flat-soled shoes. For inter-club matches and external tournaments you should wear whites.

White polo shirts and sweatshirts embroidered with the Ember Croquet Club crest are available from the club at modest prices, and other white items are available from the Croquet Association shop and local bowls shops. In particular you may wish to acquire white waterproofs as play does not normally stop for rain.

The Club provides all the playing equipment you will need. The hoops, balls and other court equipment is of proper tournament quality and there is a selection of club mallets. After a short time trying out the club mallets you will probably want to buy your own. This is the only item of playing equipment you will need, and a good basic mallet can be purchased for about £90 from the Croquet Association shop.
