EMBER BOWLS CLUB - COMPETITIVE & SOCIAL PLAY

At Ember there is something for everyone!

For the competitive players a number of ladies’, men’s, and mixed teams enter into the various Surrey and North West Surrey individual knock-out competitions. Club players have been very successful in these latter events in recent seasons. Ember teams compete in a number of leagues against other local clubs and we have also been running our own triples competition (the “Coronation Triples”) for local clubs since 1953.

Our many internal club competitions are keenly contested and we run an Evening Mixed Triples league throughout the season; this has proved to be very popular for members of all standards. Inexperienced bowlers find this an excellent, gentle introduction to competitive play.

A full programme of “friendly” Ladies’, Men’s and Mixed matches against other local clubs provides regular competitive play in a social atmosphere. These matches are for club players of all abilities.

For the less competitive club members who just want to enjoy a game with their friends, Club “roll-up” sessions are held on several afternoons each week. There is also a Club Night “roll-up” session that is held every Monday evening which provides a social focus to the Club’s activities.
